1,011. On the SIII dashs I've had off the most rot is where the square hole is that the air enters the dash along the bottom. Mine was good enough that a wire brush and some anti rust paint was all I did. There should be a heater control valve at the front of the engine that the cable connects to.

Wondering if I can simply sand and maybe rivet some plates over the corroded bits, then treat and paint. I'm not a welder, but suspect it'd be a pita to do much with tbh. Take top and bottom steering column fascia pieces apart. Unscrew instrument panel face and pull back a bit. Unscrew and move heater control panel to side. Remove metal brace that spans bottom of instrument panel box. Remove instrument panel box carefully so you don't break it. Remove lower dash. Remove upper dash.
